Channel Mapping in epg123

#1

Post by Sammy2 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 2:43 pm

I'm sure I probably asked this before but I'll ask it again..

epg123 Client GUI.JPG

Can I right click here on the call sign in the left panel and change the channel number such that the change will be picked up in in WMC, Emby and Plex?

Is this where I hide channels or is it in the main epg123 GUI?

Thanks!

One more thing I'm seeing here and maybe more important??

In the epg123 GUI I have PremiumTV Pacific and OTA for my ZIP Code

In the client GUI it is Comcast - Santa Maria and OTA for my ZIP Code. I was using this Comcast Lineup to get a lineup in Plex before I got the epg123.xmltv to load into plex but now do not use this lineup at all.

What I'm seeing in my guide is what's in the main GUI not what is in the Client GUI.

What's going on?

The client is what interacts with the WMC database. It is with the client that you can change the channel names and numbers, but only for WMC. The changes will not be reflected in the mxf file or xmltv file. So yes for WMC; no for emby and plex.

If you click the lineup pull down in the client, you will see the HDHomeRun Premium TV (Pacific) and your OTA lineups. When the client opens, it populates that pull down with the first EPG123 lineup it finds in the list (sorted). It is there because it is present in the WMC database. To remove it from the list, click the 'X' button next to the pull down.

Bummer.

I suppose some sort of script is necessary to grab the xmltv file and renumber then?

I'd really like to dispose of the XX.X format and have something like 10XX or something like that.

When I click the lineup pulldown on the right panel I see this old Comcast Lineup, not the PremiumTV Lineup. On the left Panel I see my OTA lineup whether I click "All Scanned Services" or whether I click the OTA Lineup. Neither the Comcast nor the PremiumTV Lineups appear.

I have not checked the actual guide to see if my PremiumTV Lineup is getting less and less days.

Should I re-do Client Setup?

Thanks.

You're jumping around a bit here.

The right side will show you what lineups have been imported into WMC. If the only thing you see in the pull down is the comcast lineup, then you have never imported the Premium TV or OTA lineups into WMC. You might want to find out why.

The left side will only show you what merged channels you have; what channels your tuners in WMC have scanned. You won't see the Premium TV or Comcast channels on the left since WMC does not see the Premium TV channels on the HDHomeRuns.

Check the trace.log file to see why your other lineups have not been imported into WMC.

Okay. That makes sense. I'll take a look at the log and report back.

One more thing.. Of the Four Lineups on the epg123 GUI I only have PremiumTV Pacific and OTA for my ZIP Code selected. I'm not sure why it is showing differently in the Client GUI?

Because an MXF file containing the Premium TV and OTA lineups have never been imported into WMC. What you are seeing is what is present in the WMC database... has nothing to do with what the configuration GUI shows.

To tell you the truth, I have not looked at the WMC guide since PremiumTV rolled out. For a time I was using that Comcast Guide to fake channels into Plex but switched earlier this week. Shouldn't it be showing what I currently have set up now? Should I rebuild the database for WMC?

Check your trace.log file. As far as I can tell, you are not importing the mxf file into WMC... you've just been creating the MXF file along with the XMLTV file.

Yup. Definitely looks like it is working. So if it is not that, then the contents of the mxf file must be the comcast lineup? I can't think of any way that you can import an mxf file, with 2 lineups in it, and the lineups not show unless you have 0 channels selected for download.

I checked. My WMC Lineup is only my OTA lineup with all the sub channels.. 2.1, etc.

I'm very perplexed by this.

The lineups are in there. In the client, click the down arrow of the lineup combo box to view a list of lineups in your WMC database.

They must be there because the left side shows your OTA channels are subscribed to an EPG123 OTA lineup.
