No Data available after Sept 4th

#1

Post by abs7125 » Mon Aug 27, 2018 3:44 pm

Hello,
I recently have no data available, in my guide, after September 4th. I have uninstalled EPG, reinstalled it, cleared the cache, and the log file shows no errors. Does anyone have any other suggestions, or ideas what may be wrong?

Thanks you

Did you delete and recreate your scheduled task?

I just did that, and no change. Fyi the guide goes out to Sept 16th. Everything after Sept 4th shows no data available.

Check a few things.

What is the date/time stamp of your epg123.mxf file?
How big is the file?
Open the client gui and look to see what your channels are subscribed to. Should start with "EPG".
Look at bottom of client gui and see how many lineups you have.
Please post the contents of the trace.log file for the last update.

The date / Time stamp for the epg123.mxf file is : 08/27/2018 04:51am.
The size of the file is 96.6 Mb
The client Gui does show EPG with my subscribed list.
Total number of lineups = 11

So, you are creating the MXF file and importing the MXF file with no errors (I'm making an assumption here, your trace.log entries did not cover the creation or import). Your "about guide" shows the date going out to 9/16, but your channels in the guide only show listings out to 9/4.

I was asking how many lineups you had in your database because I was thinking that what you see in the guide is actually Rovi, or a different lineup. Note that I see on another thread that the Rovi guide data may have stopped updating Friday? which would mean their current end date is around 9/4. Having 11 lineups means you definitely have something other than just EPG123. Could it be that the channels from EPG123 are not subscribed (mapped) to your guide channels? So now the question is, in the client GUI, for your channels that end 9/2, are their Subscribed Lineup the correct lineup?

As far as the mxf file, I am not doing anything to manipulate it. This is the first time, I ever had to look at it.

If Rovi is causing issues, how do I set it up so Epg123 is the only guide provider?

The Subscribed lineups are correct.

Could you take a look at this post (viewtopic.php?p=128065#p128065) and give feedback? This may be a Schedules Direct problem.

Reading the last post in that thread, the info specified is not equal, in regards to the stations. Here is the part of the trace.log the post refers to :

Just an FYI at the moment. I just downloaded your lineup for 20 days without issue. I checked the guide and it goes out to 9/16, so it is not the data from SD.

You can do the nuclear option and perform a [Client Setup] from the client GUI and start with Step 1 again. This will clear out everything in your database and start fresh. Your recording requests will be restored as part of the process using the Transfer Tool.

Another way would be to select all the dead/unwanted lineups in the client GUI and click the red 'X' beside the pull-down for each lineup you want to delete. I can't guarantee that Rovi won't rear its ugly head again if it already has some hooks into you, though.

On Step 2, did you remember to select the 'I do not agree' radio button for the Program Guide Terms of Service? It looks like you just setup WMC with Rovi again.

I suggest doing a client setup again to clean out Rovi and select the 'I do not agree' radio button. Alternatively, you can do this (viewtopic.php?p=128076#p128076) just to get your EPG123 listings in the guide. Though there may be problems down the road since Rovi is still in the database.

That fixed it. Here are the steps from that post which fixed this:

In the client GUI...

0) close WMC
1) Click any channel on the left side and press [Ctrl]+[A] to select all
2) Right-click any channel on the left side and select 'Unsubscribe'
3) On the right side pull-down, select your EPG123 lineup for Cablevision/Optimum (is there more than 1?)
4) On the left side, click the Match by: [# Number] button
5) Open WMC and check the results

Thanks

I suggest you check out your scheduled recordings as well. Open the Transfer Tool from the client... anything on the right side in red/pink will be a Rovi series ID and will not work with the EPG123 guide. You will need to setup those recordings again, are do a conversion using the tool.

To use the tool...
1) click the [Backup] button in the client and wait for completion
2) click the [Transfer Tool] button in the client to open it
3) click the [Open recordings backup file] button and find the backup_YYYYMMdd_HHmmss.zip file just created
4) anything on the right side that is red/pink, right-click and select 'Cancel'
5) anything on the left side, ensure the checkbox is checked and click the [>>>] button between the panes
