Very odd. I'm replying to your email you sent with the updated lineup file. Should go straight to you.

Since we're having problems, I'll just post it on the site here. http://epg123.garyan2.net/downloads/epg ... a1.1.18.7z

That works a treat and I'm sure it will be really useful to lots of people.

The new features are great too.

Thanks very much.

Hi Gary.

I put the beta you created in a temp folder and ran it manually a couple of times. Apart from the fact that it started up with 'Analogue Cable line up for the UK' selected on the right-hand side, it appeared to work properly.

I moved it to the epg123 folder yesterday and when it ran using my custom scheduled task this morning, it appeared to run properly but I got '[ERROR] Failed to locate any lineups from EPG123' in the trace log.

I assume this is connected with the other behaviour I've observed.

I'll send the trace log if you need it.

Sorry, it is because this upcoming version of the client will only work with the upcoming version of the epg123 program. Instead of combining all the subscribed lineups into one, we will have separate lineups. It is expecting there to be more EPG123 lineups in the database but all it is finding is the 'EPG123 Lineups from Schedules Direct'.

Until I release the next version, you'll need to keep using the old epg123Client.exe for you schedule updates.

Hi there, I am a happy user of epg123 and schedules direct. Over last 3-5 days, I noticed that some of my recordings are getting a generic description for the episode, even though the original guide was specific. For example, even though the guide today shows that Jimmy Kimmel is hosting Chris Pratt at 1130pm tonight. This same episode when recorded shows a generic description of “Emmy winning funny man jimmy Kimmel ...” without the text I see today that includes the specifics.

Anyone seen this issue before? I rebuilt the wmc database in EPG already.

Can you check if the episode information is in your cache directory? I've installed my (ancient) copy of epg123 in c:\epg123. So I'd execute the following from a command prompt:

find /i "Chris Pratt" c:\epg123\cache\* > c:\foo.txt
find "Kimmel" c:\foo.txt

If that shows anything, it's in your cache.

Sorry I haven't had time to respond. This, as described, is very unusual. I've never heard of it happening.

The only thing I can think of, and I'm just shooting in the dark, is if your recordings are not series recordings but you select each one individually from the guide while there is still only generic descriptions. When I was working on the transfer tool and looking at scheduled recording requests, I noticed that WMC will include descriptions in the requests. However, I have also seen that information be updated as the guide gets updated, so not sure if what you describe could happen this way.

If you right-click the recording file and look at the properties, does the description still show the generic information?

It is a series recording, not individual episodes.

I tried changing two settings yesterday and it worked. I selected prefixing episode title with episode and season number. I also unchecked the option of using themoviedb.org cover art if missing. I was just debugging but it did work. I have now unchecked the episode title prefix option to see if that brings the problem back.

I noticed tonight that the channel listing in WMC for USAHD (channel 550) shows 'No data available.'.
I launched EPG123 and re-ran it (Save and Execute). I didn't see any errors. I saw channel 550 listed in the lineup.
This is for Seattle Frontier lineup.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I was running 1.15 when I noticed the problem. I updated to 1.17 and there was no change.

Thanks,
Kevin

I just downloaded that channel which had data. Sounds to me like the station id changed which will orphan the channel guide listing. Open up the epg123client.exe, select channel 550 on the left side and right-click to unsubscribe, then select 550 on the left and USAHDP 550 on the right and right-click to subscribe.

That should do it.

hi
started doday my trial period with epg123/schedulesdirect;

I'm on win81x64 with WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12; I have a twin S2-sat-receiver from DigitalDevices and need the German Astra19,2E EPG;
unfortunately not all channels are present in the lineup; Eurosport is only available in French; MTV Europe and n-TV is not available...
but even some channels like RTL Television, which is selectable in epg123.exe, is then not shown in the epg123_Client;

to circumvent this, I added a second lineup (from Telekom), but it seems that the channels I choose in the second lineup are also not shown in the Client.exe to be subscribed to a Receiver channel...

on top comes that I have no Pictures what so ever; not a single one; here I suspect the Firewall... which module does Pick-up the Pictures from the Internet, so I can check whether it is allowed to go out?

Thanks

For lineup problems, please open a ticket with Schedules Direct.

There is 1 known issue that may be a part of your problems. There are some programs that have an unexpected series ID in the JSON data from Schedules Direct that epg123 can not handle. If you see an error in the trace.log file like below, then please download a special build of epg123.exe to help you out. (http://epg123.garyan2.net/downloads/epg ... .17.EU.zip)

Code: Select all

[ERROR] JSON integer 4294967295 is too large or small for an Int32. Path '[1198].metadata[1].TheTVDB.seriesID', line 1, position 1358136.
For pictures, WMC handles the calls to download the pictures which are typically from https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdirec ... s/.....jpg or https://json.schedulesdirect.org/201412 ... s/.....jpg. There is a file in the epg123 folder called guideImages.xml which will have all the image links in the guide.

thanks for the help; I will give the EU.zip a try;
so it is WMC who Needs to go for the Pictures; which module is it exactly? ehome?

ok, I tried the new exe with a fresh install; i don't see a change other then, since I changed the order of the 2 lineups, different channels are affected...

in the Zip there is a screenshot from the Client (cl.jpg; sorted by service name) which shows that channels "Anixe", "Deutsche Welle TV (DW)" and "MDR" are missing;
while in the Server lineups they are selected (sv*.jpg);

in the log there is only one warning concerning "DW" (Deutsche Welle); otherwise no hint of Errors;

still no Pictures in the EPG (images.XML exists); I allowed mcupdater.exe and ehshell.exe to reach for Internet and enabled within WMC the updates (but not for CD covers etc);

I also don't have the movie guide within WMC; probably because there are no covers in the EPG...

Okay. I'll be able to recreate your lineup/situation here later tonight.

Just a quick note looking at your trace.log file. There was a recording in progress so the file was not yet imported in the database... possibly when you did the screen captures of the client. Check to see if you have ANIXE, MDR, or Deutsche Welle TV when you open the client now.

For the most part, everything is working here. All channels I selected are in the MXF file, along with listings for all there except DW which has no listings... we are getting no data for that station from Schedules Direct. I get all the artwork as well. Concerning 'Movie Guide' ... I believe that capability is limited to specific regions/countries. When I changed my region to Germany, I lost it as well.

well, I'm using "WuselEPG" up to now and have the Movie Guide... WuselEPG is using "TV-Movie Clickfinder" Lineups as a data source (data is stored in an Access database and is converted); it contains also a limited supply of Pictures, but no covers; lately the supply of covers through external sources broke down, therefore I have only generic/blank covers; so, it's pretty much useless; that's why I was looking for something else;

I think it is a matter of the EPG (items are marked as "movie" ; cover is present) whether the Movie Guide is created; therefore again the question :
which specific piece of Software (module) is responsible for the cover art download?

to the lineups: so, you have the two lineups added, selected some channels from the first and then added a few more from the second, which are not present in the first, "save&execute"... all of them are shown in the Client? even if you later add some more channels in one of the lineups, which is not present in the other?

I mean, you have seen the screen shots, I'm not imagining this... what can be the problem on my side?
