Hi!
I just tried the new transfer tool.
It is very nice!
It transferred most of my series recordings,
but none of my WishList items.
Is that how it is intended to work?

I don't automatically check the wish list items for transfer. If you check the checkboxes for each wishlist item, and click the [ > > > ] button, do they transfer then?SwissCheese wrote:Hi!

EDIT: BTW, I changed the behavior with WishLists to change the backcolor to light green and to automatically check for transfer. I honestly don't know why I didn't do that in the first place but I was primarily focused on the series requests.

Hi!
I can select the WishList item, which turns blue,
but I can't check the box.
If I try to transfer the blue item nothing seems to happen.

Ah, I see the problem. Do you need a fix immediately or can you wait 'til next release.

Hi!
No hurry...I was just worried I did something wrong or maybe
it's because my Win7 virtual machine is missing something.
Thanks!

Oh!
I forgot to ask, if the WishList transfers had worked ,
would they have carried details such as "HD Preferred" for the channel?
Thanks yet again!

It transfers directly over so all your settings are intact. The same is actually true for the series transfers as well ... the tool only replaces the series UID from a Rovi value to a TMS/Zap2It/Gracenote UID.

Well, bit the bullet to try 1.11 to get my 6 ceton tuners it after deciding 'it should be ok'. I double clicked the tweakmediacenter.reg and it seemed to do it's thing. I ran through the other steps but WMC kept reporting only 4 tuners. I finished all the installs, rebooted and tried again. WMC still reporting only 4 tuners when I went to try again. Cancelled it out... argh...
BTW, at one point I tried going through the manual setup and it only would allow me the 4 tuners. Cancelled that out as well.
I have confirmed registry shows MaxTunerCount REG D_WORD 0x00000020 (32)
help? thx
NEVER MIND...
For the next person who does this, there are TWO Steps, the registry insert and then manual insert of the mxf file. I somehow missed the latter.
Trying again now

Sorry, thought you picked that up from the Guide. The registry and database is now prepped for 32 tuners, but you will only have more than 4 when you do TV Setup again (page number 12 from guide).mafaldatv wrote:Well, bit the bullet to try 1.11 to get my 6 ceton tuners it after deciding 'it should be ok'. So the sequence to get more than 4 tuners is:
1. Clean Start
2. WMC TV Setup (only 4 tuners available)
3. Apply fix for 32 tuners
4. WMC TV Setup again (all tuners available)
5. Continue with EPG123 configuration
If your WMC is already setup but only has the 4 tuners, you will need to manually apply the fix like you did but you still need to run TV Setup again.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I see I wasted your time as you quoted my message before I found out what I had done wrong and edited it to show I"m an idiot. Everything JUST finished and it seems ok. Since everything had been previously set up I assume I didn't have to do a clean start. Crossing my fingers I'm right on that one... (??)

Never a waste of time. If my code and writing skills were perfect there wouldn't be any questions ... and if my code were as good as I sometimes think it needs to be, it would be called Skynet.mafaldatv wrote:Thanks for responding. Correct in not performing clean start again. That would wipe out the needed mxf file import to complete the tuner increase and you would be back at the beginning.

I guess it is a top secret project.

Yah, I've been silent because it's not my project. From the description though, I'm pretty excited to see it when it does finally get revealed. There is a URL, but no content related to the project so I haven't shared that either.IT Troll wrote:IT Troll wrote:What is this guide enhancement project you mention? I'm looking forward to seeing what this is all about.

@Gary, I'm confused:
I have an InfiniTV ETH which registered having 6 tuners when I did my TV setup without any registry editing ...
Is it only using the first 4 unless I modify my registry?
I'm running Windows 8.1 MC
Thanks,
Avery

When the ehome folder is wiped out in Step 1, the tuner limit increase goes with it. The fix is not just in the registry, but in the WMC database as well. The challenge/problem is in order to apply the "fix", you already need your tuners configured in WMC. That is why another TV Setup has to be performed after the fix ... the first setup would only allow 4 tuners, the second will let you have up to 32.
From then on, anytime you perform a TV Setup, you will have the maximum 32 tuners until such time that the database is deleted again.
I'm not familiar with the Ceton drivers, but I guess it is possible that they could apply the fix automatically, but from reports I've seen from other InfiniTV users the fix has to be applied again after a Step 1 Clean Start.

So I looked up "Increase tuners in Windows Media Center" and found this from Microsoft:
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/peterr ... ingspaces/
It's pretty old, but an analysis of my registry showed that it's still relevant, so I followed the instructions and did not notice any change to my tuners or affinity for recording / watching.
I did, however, notice on the web GUI for the InfiniTV ETH that it was recording on tuner 5, so I'm assuming that the registry was already modified by the Ceton installer to record on at least 6 tuners.
Where is the registry key for increasing to n # of tuners?
