I just wanted to let you know Ryan.
I do have a technical question though. When checking the box that says use the word "new" instead of the original aired date, does that affect the recording scheduler in any way? Meaning can WMC still tell the difference between new vs. reruns?

I installed the 1.1.8 "installer" on a brand new W8 box toda

The definition of "new" in WMC is if the episode has an OAD (Original Air Date) that is within 7 days of the airing date.
So if you have that option checked, and an episode of a show has the NEW flag set, EPG123 will override whatever OAD Gracenote associated with that episode and make the OAD equal to the airing date (forcing it to be seen as NEW by WMC). This should affect all airings of that episode, not just the one that has the NEW flag, so all airings will have the new OAD (but WMC will only record one of them).
So to answer our question, yes WMC can still tell the difference between new and reruns. This option just makes it work for show that have the NEW flag set but may have an incorrect OAD set by Gracenote (or the show may have an OAD of the original airing in another country, but is now airing for the first time in your country).

You've got it right, Space. I'm just going to add 1 technical clarification. All airings of that episode will have the new OAD as long as the episode flagged as NEW is in the future and part of the update. Once that NEW episode has aired, the next update will no longer have that episode and all other airings will revert back to the OAD supplied by Gracenote.Space wrote:This should affect all airings of that episode, not just the one that has the NEW flag, so all airings will have the new OAD (but WMC will only record one of them).
