Recorded shows and recording schedule missing
Long time lurker finally made the jump to END on Windows 7 with dual HDHR Primes abd a single Ceton infinitv pcie4.. Been great but on a daily basis something is going through and removing all my series recordings and recorded shows... Here are the log entries in seeing:
Bull was manually deleted on 11/16/2016 8:19:00 AM by dvr.
The series recording of Bull was removed from the recording schedule on 11/16/2016 7:41:39am by dvr.
I looked at task scheduler and can't seem to find a process running at that time doing this... I'm using EPG123 for guide data but that updates at midnight...
Any ideas what is deleting my recording schedule and files?
My media storage for recorded shows is a 3TB HE'D.

I'm noticing the same behavior on my Windows 7 machine as well. This appears to have just started doing this on the 15th. At least, that's when I started noticing missing recordings. I haven't found anything in the App Event logs as well as any WMC logs. I haven't made the switch to EPG123, so this possibly rules out the idea that it's a guide problem?
My recordings go to 3TB drive on D:\. Also, I'm not performing any type of conversions of recordings. Seems really strange. Any ideas where to look?
Thanks!
PJ

Any ideas on this? It still seems to happen one every couple of weeks and I sure can't find anything in the logs to indicate why. My wife is about to have my head.

Did anyone ever discover why this was happening?
I'm still suffering and the wife is about to leave me cos its mainly her things that are recorded.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that but think its probably the only option I have left.

1. Go into recorded storage. Check the amount of storage it's allowed to use (In WMC settings)bshiers82501 wrote:Any ideas on this? It still seems to happen one every couple of weeks and I sure can't find anything in the logs to indicate why. My wife is about to have my head.
2. Check the series to see if there is limits on the series.
WMC allows you to only use a % of the drive as a MAX. So if your shows start filling up the allowed storage, it will start deleting shows. I think the default takes only 25% of the drive and if it's a 1tb, 250gp can fill up quick as a 1 hour HD show takes about 5-8gb and a 1/2 hour one is about 2-4gb. Record about 25-40 shows and see what happens..
I agree with the other poster here as get a SOLID working WMC machine and disable Windows updates, my HTPC does not even have virus protection on it. Note, this machine is directly connected to a TV and is NEVER used for web browsing or other content. If you use your computer for more, Windows updates and virus protection is suggested.

I don't think it's the % of the disk cos I've got a very big drive and I've removed all my old recordings from the drive in an effort to establish the culprit. I think i have another related problem whereby after I've re-set programmes or series to record and they are mysteriously deleted, WMC then goes into meltdown and decides it must record every programme on every channel. Needless to say the machine completely locks up and is unusable. Big problems me thinks!
