I have never used a NAS but if that would solve the problem that would be great but it's something else to learn and unfortunately my learning speed is quite low with my current health issues. Are you saying that A NAS over the LAN to record and playback TV is going to be faster than storing locally on SATA Software Raid? Stablebit Drivepool is not actualy a Raid as such it just pools the drives and seems to have no performance issues. It reads and writes to the drives just balancing out the files. You can pull a drive from the pool and read the files off it. It is a standard NTFS drive. How would A NAS help with Speed?

Not saying its faster...Not really saying anything....just fishing for more info...trying to see the big picture...

Are there any settings in Stablebit Drivepool that might eliminate or reduce the problem with the remote lag?

Have you tried any of the logging suggestions at the developers website?

Here is a guy that suggests a "bug"...

Another common question that I don't think anyone asked yet is.....What are you using for Antivirus and/or Firewall?
