TV sleep vs WMC
Hello. I'm switching from a DirecTV DVR to WMC on an Intel NUC. The NUC has a built-in IR receiver and I have an HP WMC remote (5070-2583) dating back from when I bought a WMC PC running Vista. The remote works fine for WMC but doesn't control the TV. (Maybe it can be programmed? I don't know how.)
The WMC remote controls the volume on the HTPC but not on the TV. Second, since the WMC remote activity is not recognized by the TV, it goes to sleep. How do I handle the volume with a unified control, and prevent the TV from going to sleep without having to juggle remotes? I'm considering buying a Harmony 700. Will that address the issue?
The TV is a Sony Bravia. It controls a related Sony AV receiver and BluRay player by way of the HDMI connections. If I turn on the TV the receiver goes on. If I switch the TV input to BluRay, it controls that. Can the WMC HTPC be incorporated into that scheme?
Thanks for any advice.

Any universal will control WMC and a TV. I prefer the $16 Nevo C2 to Harmony. Disable power save on the TV if you're having sleep trouble.

I found about 20 listings for ~$16 but am only allowed to post 3. Just search ebay for "Nevo C2". You'll find plenty.blueiedgod wrote:mdavej wrote:Any universal will control WMC and a TV. I prefer the $16 Nevo C2 to Harmony. Disable power save on the TV if you're having sleep trouble.
