"Unsupported compression method" in 7-zip file

I am at my first bumbling steps discovering EPG123.

I have downloaded the 2 latest versions from garyan2.net, receiving a 244 KB file. When I run 7-Zip -- I get this error message for each of the four files in the archive: "Unsupported compression method".

Has anyone got a suggestion?
Is the file size 244 KB correct?

7-zip is garbage. Use WinRAR.

Thank you but I get the same result with WinRAR. I went to 7-ZIP in desperation. :-}

I am using WinRAR 5.31 64-bit and I unzipped both versions of 0.9.4 successfully. Both files are 244KB.

Where are you unzipping the files? Perhaps you don't have permission. Put the files in C:\TEMP

I am using my regular-ol' directories for such things. Besides, I think the error message would indicate "permission" rather than "Unsupported compression method"

I have also tried it on another machine with the same results. Very strange.

I searched Google for the "Unsupported Method" "7zip" and found . . .

When you try to extract a .7z (7-Zip) file show the following errors:
unknown method
Or
unknown compression method

Download and install the latest version of the 7-Zip software from
