epg123 logo

Okay, I've been testing out the next version (v0.7.6) which will include daily schedule caching to reduce network bandwidth, schedules direct api calls, reduce timeouts, yada yada.... Everything is working great; just want to do some tuning and benchmarking, as well as test out some corner cases to capture possible issues.

Here's my problem. I have never claimed to be a software engineer, I just pretend to be as a hobbyist. What I will never claim to be is a graphic artist. I would really love to have a logo for epg123 as well as icons for the program. So if there are any graphic artists out there, or even pretend artists as a hobby, I'd appreciate any help you may want to provide. I'll throw in a years subscription to Schedules Direct for whomever creates the chosen artwork. :D

BTW: using epg123 on a SSD is blazing fast. Mileage may vary for those on spinners. Going to do some benchmarking.

I'd be about as much use artistically as a chocolate teapot :(

I can try out my skills. I am wondering if incorporating the green button would be a violation of some thing?
Thoughts?

The attachment EPG123.png is no longer available
Pretty good, made a more basic/simple version of it.

My original idea looked too much like the Ceton MMC logo  :P

I'm liking the TV EPG 1-2-3 channel thing going on from IT Troll and Ed.

Thanks. I played around with a couple of TV designs before hitting on using a retro TV with channel selector buttons to incorporate the 1-2-3. Then I thought I could turn what would the speaker grill into a download indicator. Perhaps it works better if this looks more like a grill? The green is of course a reference to TGB.
EPG123b.png
It sizes down to 128x128 quite nicely. Below that the numbers start to get too small, so in an icon file I would switch to an alternate version for the smaller sizes.

I'd recommend the top row for any icons 64x64 or under. At those small sizes, embedded text just makes the icon cluttered; for larger sizes, where space is available add the text back in. Looks good.

I'm going to bump this thread a little ... I realize I actually never set a date, so I would like any/all logo and icon submissions by 3/20 at 1900Z (around noon for us in the US +/-). At which point, a "winner" will be declared.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! I think the work IT Troll did early scared off most of the competition. Good job, IT Troll, you are the winner!

I would like to thank all who participated and I am excited to add some artwork to the program.
