Make your own TV stations from downloaded videos

Earlier today, I was reading the help file's from SichboPVR and discovered a feature that I have thought about, but was unable to describe until now.

Make your own TV stations from downloaded videos

I dug the feature out of the help files.

By going into TV > Folders. I call them "Folder Channels". The idea is you make a channel, point it to a few folders on your PC or network and it'll create a lineup automatically in the EPG. For example you might make a channel called "Cartoons" and point it to your private stash of animated shows. Play the channel from the guide and it'll keep cycling through episodes etc.

I thought this might be a good idea to have, for example, a 3D channel, or a 4K channel. The EPG would scan the 3D folder and list the contents as part of the lineup, displaying the various movies/video's over the span of time slots in the EPG.

Tonys2 recently informed us.

Is it possible to take an App and make it into a channel number ? For example I use YouTube a LOT on WMC (running chrome full screen with relaunch), could I put channel, for example, 1000 and name it youtube to open the app when I go to it ?

You would create a folder named 4K and place all your 4K movies in it. Then tell SichboPVR where the folder is. SichboPVR scans the 4K folder and list your 4K movies in the EPG. Then just like normal you use your remote control right arrow right arrow right arrow go to the movie you want and hit play.

SichboPVR is not connected to WMC. It is more of a plan B at the moment. My test machine installed ROVI by default.

Gary, is it possible, and, how difficult would it be to bring this "Folder Channel Feature" into WMC?
