EPG123 and WMC on new Win7 Computer

#1

Post by Alan G » Sun Nov 05, 2017 1:24 pm

I have a new Win7 computer that I want to set up with a Hauppage Dual Channel Cable Card tuner. WMC has not yet been configured on this PC. Since I do not have any Rovi data on this can I go through the WMC installation process after installing epg123 and rejecting the terms and conditions so that no ROVI data ever downloads? It's not clear to me whether the normal WMC process sets up directories and files that are required for the EPG123 'Clean Start' process. I've tried looking through past postings to get an answer to this but could not find one.

TIA, Alan

No need to set up Rovi first and then EPG123 but It is a good idea to go ahead and open WMC to do the initial setup. This will create the ehome folders if they don't exist yet. Just open WMC, do the express setup and close it, then jump to installing EPG123.

Keeping WMC alive beyond January 2020. https://garyan2.github.io

Worked like a charm. Just ran the quick WMC set up. The great thing is when I logged into Schedules Direct they already had all the information from the earlier install so all that had to be done is checking the relevant boxes and then do the execution. I forgot how long it takes the first time through. Again, many thanks!!!
