SD--data quality?

New to Schedules Direct here. Tonight's Kevin Can Wait had full metadata, but looking forward the next two weekly episodes have only generic data.

Is this normal for SD? In general, how far out do the quality data go before it drops down to being generic placeholders?

In the US, the data is typically quite good.

Please open a ticket at the Schedules Direct website so that I can check the actual data on the server; I'd need your lineup and the channel number to start that process.

Done. Lineup is USA-OTA-43214 and the channel number in question is 10.1.

The guide data are correct, as shown by Rob and by Zap2It. A simple save & execute wasn't enough; I had to force a rebuild of the database. I thought that odd. It had reported a successful execution of the overnight task, but apparently some crud had built up just over a couple of days since I started this and interfered with populating the guide correctly. ???

I dunno. Maybe, maybe not. I will keep an eye on things.

It's been a while since I heard of this happening. It isn't anything you did or didn't do, this is a limitation of WMC when updating guide listings and is exactly why I created the rebuild database button.

For some reason, WMC decided that the updated information for the episode was not valid and rejected the entry, leaving the old generic information. EPG123 is feeding it the correct info but it wasn't making it to the guide. Note that my guide has generic descriptions for the episodes on 10/30 and 11/6 as well so it is not something that is limited to your guide. WMC has some crazy logic when importing programs and we were trying to find ways to force it but were unsuccessful.

More than likely, they changed the start time of the program so WMC decided it couldn't replace the generic program with the new because they didn't fit the same time slot.

Further information of interest:

the force rebuild found full metadata for 10/30. But, the following two weeks--11/6 and 11/13--are generic. But Zap2It shows only generic info for 11/6, so that must be what's there. That's fine.

But I discovered that this past Monday's recording is now no longer part of a series. The series is still scheduled, but the recording itself is disassociated with the series. It doesn't show "cancel series" on the main screen. But it recorded after I set the series up on Saturday, when I first turned on EPG123; in other words, it started out life as part of a series recording that I set up on Saturday.

I did another force rebuild to observe the behavior; it takes a few minutes, but WMC gets everything sorted out. More importantly, other series recordings still show themselves as part of the series. So it's not the force rebuild in and of itself that's any issue here.

Curious.
