Season and Episode Numbers prefix description

#1

Post by DanITman » Tue Sep 12, 2017 2:24 pm

I'm interested in having the season and episode number be a prefix to the description. I tried it in the title and the wife didn't like it. As we hover over the recorded tv there is a short description that appears and it would be nice to see the episode number without having to click on it. Thanks

Anyone else? It can certainly be done and I'm going to have to work on the section of code anyway for a new feature...!

Schedules Direct is now providing the Season and Episode numbers from theTVDB.com. I haven't taken a lot of samples of the data to see how complete it is, but it is certainly an option (Gracenote S/E numbers sometimes don't line up with expected numbers ... there is no season 0 specials in the Gracenote identifications). I'm looking at adding an additional option to use theTVDB.com S/E designations when available.

I only watch a limited number of series but so far SD labels them all with season and episode numbers.

Recorded TV HD also uses thetvdb.com so using their numbering would be better for consistency. Gets my vote.

The season and episode numbers from SD work great but you can't read them when looking at recorded TV. Tried them in the title but wife didn't like it. I would like it either at the end of the title or at the start of the description.

It's not going to be seen on previously recorded episodes. It will only be seen (part of the video file metadata) if when it was recorded it had the S/E numbers present at the beginning of the description.

I'm not going to offer any more locations to place the S/E numbers ... there is plenty of coverage and options.
