How do you remove duplicate channels?

#1

Post by choliscott » Thu Aug 17, 2017 2:20 pm

I had an issue with WMC & had to do a fresh setup. Got everything up & running.

Went to use the EPG123 client to unsubscribe to the duplicate channels (since Comcast decided to pretty much decided to duplicate most of them).

This morning, the duplicate channels are back. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to go into the channel listing & uncheck the channels I don't want?

Thanks

If you unscubscribe the channels, then you will need to disable the automatch. When automatch runs it will see the guide channel is empty and put your duplicate back in and enable the channel.

Best option would be to simply disable the channel and not unsubscribe. Automatch will still run but it will respect your disabling of the channel and it won't show in the guide.

Thanks for the response. I unchecked the boxes for the excess channels. I don't suppose there can be a future enhancement that will allow for unchecking the channel in EPG123 Guide app?

Nope. If the lineups were pretty static and providers didn't move channels around so much, then it would make it somewhat manageable to do that.
