This release is all about the series recordings transition tool. The results were actually better than I had expected when getting the Gracenote/SD series IDs from theTVDB. If the tool works out for you, consider tipping their site for making this possible.

The recordings file I have has a sample of 60 series requests...
29 were already in the database (48.3%)
27 of the remaining were provided by theTVDB (+45.0%)
4 series left not transferred (6.7%)

So basically, the combination of a very young transfer database and theTVDB gave us a 93.3% successful transfer of series requests from Rovi to Gracenote/SD. It will only get better.

OORAH!

Make that v1.1.13 Release. There was a problem using the Win7 version of the transfer tool that has been addressed by embedding the json dll into the epg123.exe and the epg123Transfer.exe files. With this version, remove the Newtonsoft.json.dll file if not done automatically by the installer.

OK. Trying to keep my version up to date here but I went through the series migration manually nearly a year and a half ago. I'll do it but am wondering why the json.dll wasn't embedded before?

I do remember having to download something else and extracting it from there then you included it and now it is embedded.

Just curious..

Thanks!

The tool is for those folks that are just now, or recently, moving over the EPG123. It is meant to provide a way for the series recordings to make the transition as well. For us old timers, it's not an issue.

To answer why the dll wasn't embedded, remember I am not a software guy. I simply didn't know it was possible or how to do it. With the issue that came up, I had to learn how to do it and it was quite simple, actually.

Thanks. For a "not a software guy" this is really impressive. What do you do for a day job then?
