Install without updating media center TV signal

Is there a way, even if it's manually to install EPG123 without having to resettup the TV signal in WMC. I ask because I have a number of WMCs running remotely that I gain access to via Remote Desktop, and under RD Media Center does not allow you to setup a TV signal. Any advice or is this just a flat out bad idea?

The only way to do this would be to leave the MS/Rovi data in the database and simply perform Step 3 of the EPG123 installation. Not ideal, but you will have accurate guide information ... just some messy categories and peculiarities.

I think I've seen some folks over in My Digital Life that can change something to allow full WMC operation over RDP. I haven't tried it, but when I needed to do it I used TeamViewer. No problem running WMC that way. My recommendation would be to use Team Viewer to do a clean install.

If the Download listings daily option (I forget the exact name) is disabled in WMC's Settings, the Rovi data will age out over the next 12-ish days, right? So this might not be too horrible a solution. Or will some of the Rovi metadata for movies and shows remain to clutter up the categories, etc.?

Thanks guys. I really just want accurate guide data for the time being. I will have direct access in a few weeks then I can do a clean install. As it stands right now I have no guide data because of the messed up ROVI situation, so I guess there is no harm in trying. Thanks!

Then doing just step 3 will hold you over just fine.
