Generic Description on Talk shows, no guests

I'm using EPG new version. Seth Meyers, Kimmel and, Colbert have just a generic description, no guests.
I use Schedule direct and ota in Los Angeles. Anyone else?

All my shows for this week have guests listed. Anything further out than a week will typically be generic for the late talk shows. When they get closer, they will be populated.

Hello. I am new to epg123, and I must say it is pretty great so far.

I am in zip code 97302, using the lineup: Comcast Digital

Interestingly for me, all of those shows (Seth Meyers, Kimmel and, Colbert) have guests listed for me.

However, the show "Conan" (on channel TBS, for me the HD version is 755) does not show the guests.

Even today's show just says: "Celebrity guests, music acts, or comics."

I talked to the Schedules Direct guys and they said the guests are listed in the JSON.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm showing guests here on my MC. Are your updates successful?

You can perform another update now in case the program got updated with guests after your update run. If the guests are still not there... this happens sometimes and is why I created the rebuild database button. There are some conditions in the guide which will prevent WMC from accepting updates for any particular program. We've tried to bypass some of the logic, but I would say we were unsuccessful and/or the side-effects were undesirable.

I would consider the rebuild database option a last resort for the uninitiated since it deals with deleting the database which may have to be done in safe mode and may require some tinkering with tuner drivers to get them seen again.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I had assumed the updates were working successfully but apparently they were not. I checked in the logs and it said the client was failing to run because a recording was in progress (my scheduled task was at 12 midnight and it was trying to record Conan at that time, go figure).

I manually re-ran the update and it now looks good. I changed the scheduled task time to 3AM in hopes that it will work.

Thanks again!

i just redid my guide from scratch, no issues now. Rovi data must have overwritten the data even though have not gotten data from Rovi in over a year. In about guide it still showed data from EPG so i don't know what happened, but its resolved now.

update: its happening again. Talk shows have generic description, no guests or episode number. Scripted shows still have episode numbers, so its not Rovi corrupting the data. Any ideas why this is happening?

i just did clear cache and did manual download, and descriptions are back, let's see if this fixes it permanently

han, this sounds to me like you aren't actually updating. Could you post some of your trace.log file contents from a scheduled task run? Clearing of the cache should not have accomplished anything, but the Save&Execute probably did.
