Schedules Direct and Ultra HD Channels

#1

Post by bouvlover » Wed Jul 05, 2017 1:23 am

I just installed EPG123 today. Installation went very smoothly, despite my reluctance to mess with my WMC PC. I have Comcast HD service. Prior to today I had channels going up as far as 1400 (as I recall). Comcast had recently added a whole section of Ultra HD channels that they are "working on" with numbers 1000+. Today after I installed EPG123, I have my data lineup info back, but my channels stop at 999. Do you know if Schedules Direct will be providing the channels with numbers higher than 999 in the future? Do you know when they plan to do so?

Absolutely. In fact, SD is pretty darn good letting Gracenote know of any errors in the lineups to get them fixed. Feel free to submit a ticket to SD about it.

Caveat is going to be if your provider hasn't made all the new channels official yet.

Comcast is transitioning to the "Comcast Master Channel Lineup" - you can Google it if you care about the details. But Comcast has 1000's of headends, and they're not doing them all at once, and not even all of them in a region at once, so it's all over the place.

If you haven't already opened a ticket at the Schedules Direct website, please do. Sometimes Comcast tells our upstream, "On 2017-07-04 we're going to migrate USA-IL57303-X to the new lineup. Here's the channel updates." But usually they don't, so we have to open a ticket with our upstream/Comcast. And by telling Comcast, "Hey, it looks like you've put WABCDT on channel 1002; is that right?" (and a few others) then it's often enough to get Comcast HQ to 1) confirm the lineup has been migrated and 2) provide an updated channel list.

So, if it's wrong, don't sit on it for a month. Let us know about errors as soon as possible so that we can get them fixed.

Thanks garyan2 and rkulagow for your responses. I just submitted a ticket to Schedules Direct and sent them a link to the channel lineup in my area. Thank you both for your help. :)
