v1.1.7 Release

#1

Post by garyan2 » Thu Jun 15, 2017 3:34 am

One last quick release to put in some more protections and include automatic backups of your configuration file when changed, and the ehome\backup files whenever the Step 1 button is used.

If anyone has downloaded v1.1.7, I found a problem with it. Evidently the Debug build runs just fine in Win7, but not the release version which is what you got. I have pulled 1.1.7 from the download and will restore a corrected version when it is available.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Okay, sorry 'bout that. I was not handling my mutexes properly. Fix is in place and ready to go.

Same version number on the fix?

Should I use the installer or just drop the new executables over the existing ones in my C:/epg123/ directory?.

EDIT
I just did the installer. Error free run!

Thanks!

Yah, bad form, but I ended up leaving it like that. In the time it was up, there were 4 people who downloaded it from:

Fort Collins, CO
Salt Lake City, UT
Savannah, GA
Plano, TX

The error was minor and was basically the mutexes would not work for Win7 machines (would actually cause a crash if multiple instances of epg123 or epg123client were run instead of prompting and closing). The real problem is, if they wanted to run the process elevated, they would have to right-click and run as administrator rather than click a button with the shield on it.

Some nice backup functions there. People should of course remember to keep a copy elsewhere in case of a catastrophe.

You have the option to do either... whichever you prefer.
