Getting guide data back

#1

Post by eyeSpy » Sun Jun 11, 2017 6:36 pm

After many months of things running flawlessly, the SD interruption has caused me to do many potentially dumb things to try to get back to normal. I had gotten pretty close but the fact that WMC still had channels that I wasn't pulling was bothering me, since those had "No data available" in the EPG. The channels that I was pulling with EPG123 where displaying fine.

I thought doing initial TV setup without program guide subscription would clear up the problem. It did clear out all of the channels, but when they came back, it brought back the ones that I'm not subscribing to in EPG123, and now I have no program guide info at all. Every channel just lists "No data available" for everything. I've done several reruns and database rebuilds. Nothing seems to help. Can someone point me to some docs or posts that discuss how to get program data back in, and possibly remove channels from WMC that I don't show up (if there is an automated way to do this outside of WMC).

I don't know enough about the inner-workings to know what does what. Everything has just worked great since the initial setup, so I haven't had to do a lot of learning.

Thanks

If you do the TV Setup again, it breaks the link between channel and epg123 guide information. You have to reimport the .mxf file and rematch the listings to the channels.

Open EPG123 Client (epg123Client.exe).
Click the [Manual Import] button and select your 'epg123.mxf' file.
Once it completes, click the Automatch by: [# Number] button.

The automatch will attach the listings you downloaded to the channels and disable all the other channels in the guide.
