Removing Duplicate Channels on Multiple WMC PC's

#1

Post by dafunk60 » Thu Jun 01, 2017 9:34 pm

Comcast just added the new "Master Lineup" to my head end resulting in duplicates of almost every channel. One of the things I really liked about EPG123 is that I could select only the channels I wanted in the "Full server & client" version of epg123 and these would be the only channels I would see on all my "Client" media centers. I appreciate that this doesn't use more space or resource as the guide data for the duplicate channels is the same but I hate having all these duplicates in my guide.

If channel 1 & channel 2 have the same call sign & guide info, and I uncheck one in of them in epg123 both get unchecked. Garyan2 indicated in another thread that he does not intend to change that and who am I to argue.

Does anyone have an efficient method for hiding these duplicates on multiple WMC pc's?

Use the epg123Client GUI. In the left pane, select all the channels you want hidden (you can do all at once by using shift-click). Once the are all selected, hit the space bar to toggle the checkbox... this enables/disables in the WMC guide.

This is once of the reasons I don't intend on changing the configuration behavior ... it is that easy to 'hide' in WMC.

That's a quick reply! Thanks for your continued work on this software. If I do this on the PC running the client & server, will that apply to the client PC's as well or will I need to do that on every pc?

Yah, I'm on 'holiday' and just sitting around working on the next version since I have time. Tapatalk let me know you posted.

You will have to perform the operation on all the clients as well. Comcast appears to be doing the lineup restructure everywhere ... I would think the 'original' channel numbers will retire and disappear at some point?
