EPG Logos

I was recently looking to switch over to the EPG logos and noticed that none of them work because Xfinity is currently duplicating a lot of channels on 600-800 range with 1000-2000 range channel numbers to be more like Uverse.

Because the EPG chooses the file name as the channel name this ends up with a bunch of similar PNG's with _1 and _2 keeping them from overwriting each other.

Would it be possible to change this to the channel number so they would match better?

I am currently using a rename tool that is resolving this for me, but would like to have it automated and i really like how EPG has more channels labeled than MCL XL.

Sounds like the word you are looking for is "Call Sign"

If you use MCL, you can select Call Sign to be displayed instead of, or in addition to...Logo's, and number.

As you can see with mine I have call sign turned off. The call sign only shows when there is no Logo.

No, that wouldn't work out very well. Every stationID has a specific call sign that rarely changes (if at all, a change may trigger a new stationID), but will have many different channel numbers on many different lineups. If your lineup changes or your provider moves stations around, then all your logos will be wrong.

What I can do is default the very first logo to be the call sign name without the '_1'. That way, there is at least a chance the logo will be good enough without having to change the name. I didn't have too much concern about including the '_1' since it would be advisable to crop and resize the provided logos to better fit the display (42x96 or 75x225).

I ended up using a rename utility and then running your logos and then running MCL XL over the top and there are very few stations left that don't have logos.

You can make your own, or also download pre-made ones. Have a quick read through this one.
