Diminishing Listings

I have noticed that during the last two weeks or so, I am getting fewer listings than before. Some days I am down to 17 days out of 21, on others it will download most of the 21, but half of the channels will not contain data. There are no errors showing up on the epg123 log.

Is anyone else having a problem with this?

I believe SD's position is they will guarantee 14 days worth, but will of course provide more if available from their source. The number of days available has been typically 21 for all channels, but I verified with my lineup that some channels have less than 21.

Just for clarification, what do you mean by half of the channels will not contain data? Do you mean no new data? or no data at all?

I get the "No Data Available" message. I have been using epg123 and SD for about a year and a half, and this is new. I expect it for local channels, but this is for such things as CNN and Turner Classic Movies. Not a big deal, but just wondered if there had been a change to SD that anyone had heard about...

Try using the epg123Client to unsubscribe and re-subscribe one of the problem channels. I've got TCMHD in my lineup without issue.

Also, please check epg123 GUI and make sure TCM and CNN are selected. I'm wondering if you lineup changed a little and you are no longer downloading those stations.

For unrelated reasons, I had to reinstall WMC and epg123, so I am fairly sure that they are working on all channels, and the time is correct. I am just getting uncomfortable flashbacks to the reason I changed to epg123 in the first place: creeping guide erosion....

We (epg123 & Schedules Direct) are certainly not without errors, but when they pop up we get them resolved quickly. Getting reports like this from observant users certainly helps with that.

Since you mentioned TMC and CNN specifically, I just requested 21 days from both and here are the results.

TMCHD (64312) listings go to 5/11 1530GMT.
CNNHD (58646) listings go to 5/12 2100GMT.

If this is not the case for you, then the problem is not the feed from SD, but a problem with your epg123, configuration, or WMC.

Tried it a couple of times, and got the same cache problem. How do I repair this?

Any errors in event viewer at about the same time.

No event viewer errors.
I ran the update again this morning, and this time it got up to 20 days, which is an improvement. Some of the channels stop on Tuesday 10th at 9:00 am, such as Cinemax, BBC America, and ESPN: others, such as TMC, on the 11th at 11:30 am. This is not a major problem, and I'll see if it corrects itself over the next few days, or gets worse.
Parenthetically, I am also getting the mp2/mp4 "black screen, just audio" problem, but I assume this is Comcast messing with some of the Standard Def channels. That for another day....
