Last Wednesday this didn't record. I got E01 and E03 and E04 are in the scheduled recordings.
Any reason this happened?

I know that but this is my wife's show. I'd rather watch NASA Files or something but she likes all these sort of shows.. If I see another Little Women I think I'll just puke. But keeping her happy is my main goal. She complains about the littlest stupid things and compares it to "her" Uverse which has a great DVR (based on WMC as they bought it in WCE a few years back) and that DVR system did do a great job but the PQ was crap and we have 6, soon to be 7, TV locations and that in itself would cost $50 a month plus they charge more for the service.. A LOT MORE. I get all the movie channels, the Spanish channels for soccer games and internet for under $170/month from Charter. With Uverse it is $171 plus the $50 stated earlier plus tax and then another $55 to Charter for internet so that is well north of $250 pushing $300 a month when it's all said and done. That's a payment on a decent car and little does she know there's no going back to Uverse.

Sounds like a few bucks a month to CBS for their All Access streaming channel would be a great investment.

Did you look in "view scheduled->History" to see if there was any explanation as to why it was not recorded?

Other networks don't charge a ransom and it can be watched on line with commercials or "obtained" commercial free..adam1991 wrote:Sounds like a few bucks a month to CBS for their All Access streaming channel would be a great investment.

It is actually a subset of entries from the Event Viewer, but is more easily accessible from within WMC.Sammy2 wrote:Is this in the Windows Event Log?Space wrote:Did you look in "view scheduled->History" to see if there was any explanation as to why it was not recorded?

It says the recording was cancelled by the system. I have six tuners so I don't think there was too many recordings scheduled.Space wrote:It is actually a subset of entries from the Event Viewer, but is more easily accessible from within WMC.Sammy2 wrote:Is this in the Windows Event Log?Space wrote:Did you look in "view scheduled->History" to see if cthere was any explanation as to why it was not recorded?

That was the extent of it IIR. I'm not home now so I'll look further into the event logs tonight or tomorrow morning most likely.Space wrote:Did it say anything else?Sammy2 wrote: It says the recording was cancelled by the system. Sounds like what has happened to me on random occasions... did you get a partial recording? I've gotten a message in my event log for Media Center saying something like "something something for use by another component." Never figured out what the "other component" was, or why, and at that time there were plenty of tuners etc available.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll look further into it. When I looked at the history in WMC it showed the future recording tomorrow night canceled but searching by series showed it scheduled. My wife records a lot and I have a few things scheduled. Maybe there are 7 things scheduled but I certainly doubt it. Maybe one of my "trusty" tuning adapters was out at that time and only three tuners were available or WMC chose to tune on the tuner with the TA out but AFAIK, CBS is not a SDV channel on Charter. I could be wrong though. Further investigation is warranted and hopefully I will find a solution or at least know the cause but if it is "something something for use by another component" then that's too vague to figure out.webminster wrote:Sounds like what has happened to me on random occasions... did you get a partial recording?
