v1.0.0 Release !!!!!

#1

Post by garyan2 » Sun Jul 17, 2016 5:54 pm

A last minute rush to get v1.0.0 out in support of our friends across the pond. My efforts to be more internationally friendly ended with those in Great Britain not getting some program descriptions. I was hoping to get a few more things done before this release, but no big deal. I think I'm going to primarily be focused on improving the website to make it more product oriented rather than just a repository. I'll also be working on the guide, a FAQ, and cleaning up code.

Congrats on your landmark release and many thanks for all your hard work. I suspect you will be getting a few more UK fans given the current state of the MS service.

Way to go! I'm testing it now.

I'm guessing given that my colossus was already set up and working with EPG 123 I should not hit the Colossus button?

I have all sorts of scheduled recordings etc.

It's hard not to hit that button...it looks very inviting....

BTW, it seems to indicate there is an update available to 0.9.9 ? :D

Gary has to post a request to Schedules Direct to have them update their client version record. It should still work great otherwise.

Thanks for this. Can I ask what the difference between prefix and append episode title is? I could have sworn I only saw one of those on v 0.9.9

Before, it was either put sXXeYY at the beginning of the episode title or Season XX, Episode YY at the end of the episode description. With the added checkbox, you now have the option to do either, both, or none.

So...should I hit the Colossus button or is that a bad idea?

In order for the Colossus button to do anything, you will need to run epg123 as administrator ... but I would hold off. Early in my Colossus development the MS/Rovi data still caused issues ... I have probably fixed that but I need to test it out.

Does hitting that button wipe out scheduled and future recordings?

Not at all. All it does is modify the Hauppauge software tuner file to create 9999 channels. This file is accessed when a tuner scan is initiated during TV setup or a manual scan for more channels. It is also accessed during background scans which I disable when you click the button.

Brilliant program. I actually logged in to research an issue I was having with Rovi's guide and I stumbled on this. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks Gary.
