I used to use WMC 8.8.1 to watch my mkv files since i installed it in august and it worked fine, without any third party decoder
But since i installed cumulative update KB3189866 of Sept 13rd, its not possible anymore
WMC 8.8.1 does not support MKV files anymore?

My best guess is that you uninstalled some player or codec package that removed the native MKV support on its way out of your system. Installing my codec package will not only restore the native support, uninstalling my codecs (if you choose to do so) will also leave native mkv support intact and fully functional.
Also know, if you use something like Revo Uninstaller (or any similar software), It will leave you broken too.

Thanks A LOT Shark007, downloaded your codec definitely fixed the issue!
What is weird is that when i first installed T-S's Windows Media Center v8.8.1on my W10 AU, i did not need any other codecs, it worked automatically, but now K Lite fixed this, that's the point
