Rovi guide warning: The Blacklist on NBC 4/14
last week, 4/7, was "Mr. Solomon". Rovi happily recorded that, as it's new and that's how I have The Blacklist set to record.
Turns out it was "to be continued".
Fast forward. This week my list doesn't show a Blacklist to record. Turns out the Rovi guide has the name listed correctly--"Mr. Solomon: Conclusion"--but has it listed as a repeat, with (erroneous) original air date of 4/7, hence my system wasn't scheduled to record it.
What, did something/someone at Rovi see the name--Mr. Solomon--and ASS-U-ME it was the same thing as last week's show and hence a "repeat"?
anyway, Blacklist fans be forewarned.

Earlier when I first noticed the issue, I sent an email to Rovi.
They just got back to me at noon today, asking which ZIP code and station call letters were involved.
One can only hope that was for future reference as they research the issue, because it was clearly too late for users.

Setting your Series to "New & rerun" and channel specific also works.Sammy2 wrote:EPG123 FTW

There is very little reason to set a Series that is on a major broadcast network to just "New". They rarely ever air repeats of prior seasons, and even if they do, if you've already recorded those past season episodes with your current Series, it will not re-record them (a Series will never record a particular episode more than once regardless of the "New" or "New & rerun" setting).

Although I do have that scheduled as "New" I don't see it in my screenshot. Have you been hacking into my HTPC again?Space wrote:Setting your Series to "New & rerun" and channel specific also works.Sammy2 wrote:EPG123 FTW

Thanks for posting this, Sammy2. I didn't know MMC existed and it is awesome ... makes epg123 look even better. And I am really glad I decided to add the generic series descriptions in the mxf file.Sammy2 wrote:EPG123 FTW

I'm not sure why but my E18 data doesn't have the show poster but my scheduled E19 does, just like yours. I have to scroll down to see it but it is there. I think it may be a formatting thing with MMC because the synopsis is longer in E18 vs E19 but am not exactly sure.garyan2 wrote:Thanks for posting this, Sammy2. Cool that you found MMC. I've been using it for a long time. It comes in quite handy when on the go. The Premiers section is good for catching new stuff and I'm looking in there every few days to find shows that may have been dropped from the scheduled series when making the switch to EPG123. I've also come across new shows that I didn't even know were going to be on to add to my series recordings. MMC is one of the things I was concerned about compatibility with EPG123 when making the switch but it turns out there is no problem whatsoever and EPG123 actually enhances MMC over what has been there with Rovi over the past 9 months. BTW, Is there a possibility of having a "Premier" section in the guide when arrowing all the way to the left, mixed in there with Sports, HD, News and all those other sorting options?

I was looking at Program Details from the guide. I believe you were looking at the program details from the scheduled recordings (why you see the OAD and I didn't).
The premieres section is how I found "Containment" ... hadn't even heard of it so thought I'd take a look. I'll take a look at getting a Premiere category in epg123 again. Wasn't as easy as anticipated ... I still have a couple versions to go before v1.0.0!
EDIT: read a little more of your post/question. The panel on the left of guide is untouchable ... I would only be able to make a Premiere category in the search to provide what you are looking for.
