I do find it strange that epg collector is showing no data too??? Anyone else??
I've just set up EPG Collector, the first run come back with no data. I changed the location settings (last tab) to just UK and it worked fine after, it didn't like me being too specific to where I live!
The only issue I have is the series links are still showing up only to the 31st December, I can't do a reboot as something is recording.
Well I did have 7 days of data but after a reboot this morning it's gone back to only having up to the 31st December, something very odd is going on....

Live in Canada. This is not just a UK issue. Have been able to update the Guide until eraly December. Since then cannot connect. Internet connection is good. Both manual and auto updates fail. Seems like MS has stopped us from getting the info from them. Here is error 33 that I keep getting:

Can anyone shed some light on this error code?

My MCE keeps telling me (correctly) that my guide data is running out. There is nothing showing in the guide afer midnight tonight. I have tried update guide listing , a complete rescan and still nothing . My Freeview TX is Crystal Palace. Anyone else experiencing this problem ? Thanks
Mike
In the Setting - TV - Guide - About path of my vista mce it shows the details of the guide service with an end date of 1/1/2013 ?

Update = this also seems to apply to Win 7 that has the same expiry date for the Guide licence.

Yes, everyone in the UK! See this thread:

http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... f=5&t=1659

It seems that in Ireland, the EPG stopped working about three weeks ago, and it has not re-appeared. Is this the end of an era? You may wish to consider migrating to Win7, as Win7 can receive the 7-day broadcast EPG. This is what I shall be doing if the downloaded EPG does not re-appear by the end of this week. In the meantime, I am scheduling recordings using channel number and time; tedious, but it still works (no programme synopsis, though).

I have found a piece of software called dvbguide that downloads OTA guide but it does not support Vista Service Pack 2 - any way of pasting the file into Vista ?

Is everyone in the same boat?
My Guide listings run out on the 1-1-2013 @09:45.
If this is the case then Media Centre is truly dead.

It's not the same problem as here in UK/Ireland we can get the updates fine, with no errors or warnings reported, it's just that the end date of the available data is 31/12/2012.

The lack of any response from MS anywhere on the net, including the rather inappropriately named 'feedback' forum on MS Connect is worrying I must admit.I'm currently surviving using EPG Collector to retrieve the Sky EPG, but the EPG isn't as good in many respects and is only 7 days as opposed to 14, but a lot better than "No data available" !!

MC is no more dead or alive than it was yesterday or last year. just look for alternative solutions. they are out there, some of us have been making do with them for years...

Clearly the guy that does the EPG listings for the UK was of Mayan descent and never took the red pill, so when the Mayan matrix shut down on December 21, he wasn't unplugged from the matrix so he ceased to exist. Since he normally made listings about 10-12 days in advance, it should be no surprise that he only created listings through December 31.

I have never used DVBGUIDE, so do not know what is possible. Perhaps someone else may know?

I've just driven from North Wales, where my media centre had no guide data beyond today, to a friend's house in Manchester. He has guide data for freeview (beyond new year) but not for freesat. I'm going to London tomorrow. I hope my media centre there have data buy the time I arrive.

I have guide data out to Jan. 11 for some channels and have had nothing for some since Dec. 24. This is for Ottawa Canada, using US zip code 13662 as it normally has guide data for the Ottawa and US stations I get, sure hope this is fixed before regular programing starts back up.

Clearly the issue is only with FreeSat. I have configured EPG Collector to do the job for the time being. Still quite shocking to get to this state.

We (Ceton) did reach out to our MS contacts regarding guide data for UK users last night. I haven't heard anything back though - especially with the holiday, I fear it may be a day or two.

After not being able to reorder my channels WMC has now decided to no longer update EPG information. it appears to download successfully but does not update.

i even diabling it in features and re enabling it does not work.

Am i looking at a reinstall of Win 7? i think so. Probably will try a different media centre too.
