Does this "Sudden Success" coincide with the "Time Change"?

If so, then we now live in a backwards world.
I mean, updates ON the day of the time change???? Madness.

Just a heads up for those who suffer delayed guide updates.
The 11/1 episode of "SEAL Team" on CBS was supposed to be "The Spinning Wheel", but they instead replaced it with a repeat of "Other Lives".
"The Spinning Wheel" will instead be airing on 11/8. I suspect your WMC will think that it already recorded this episode last week, so you will have to tell it to record this "repeat". Also, you can probably delete the 11/1 episode, since you probably already recorded it when it first aired.

Strange occurrence here, one machine updated BUT there were "holes" in the TCM schedule. Another machine I checked this morning had not downloaded the new guide and it had those missing TCM shows. Looks like the second machine will need a forced update later today.Bee_Dee_3_Dee wrote:Second day in-a-row, EPG updated! But his time, it updated all by itself.

Last night did another (successful!) manual update. Could this be a trend? OTA in West Palm Beach

I too have now received 3 good updates in a row - first took me to 11/17, then another to 11/19 and today to 11/20 . Both manual triggering it and it running itself per the task twice a day work, so I think it's the same command that is run when you do either.
Perhaps now we are finally set for smooth sailing over winter!
Can't imagine what the time change possibly had to do with it - I looked at the guide on the night before the change and it correctly showed 1am to 2am twice. However, every place I have worked at has had time change issues in their software so it wouldn't surprise me either.
Another question for me is why do some people report running object store recovery task manually fixes it for them? I would think this would just be coincidental. I ran that 2 years ago and I remember it messed some things up that I had to go back and fiddle around with so I never ran that thing again and I think it also messed up the thumbnails on all my movie recordings which have never worked right since.

It's simple historical fact: for the last several years, the guide going out for many days coincided with the time change.AChanceFind wrote:Can't imagine what the time change possibly had to do with it
That's why we're all astonished that it actually fixed itself ON the day of the time change this time.
Voodoo. Psychosomatic. They THINK it must be doing something, therefore it must be doing something.AChanceFind wrote:Another question for me is why do some people report running object store recovery task manually fixes it for them?

Well new updates but stale data. The Tonight Show staring Jimmy Fallon is repeats this week and yet my data still shows them as new. RIP Jimmy Fallon's Mom.

Not so true- before I fixed my guide for 50 cents a week I had the ROVI virus, I mean guide, that would not populate my OTA stations unless I ran Object store recovery so it was useful for me.adam1991 wrote:Voodoo. Ah! You ran it a while ago and it messed up your thumbnails? I’ll bet you had to run it for the virus install, er I mean ROVI switchover. That was when the thumbnails went bad - you can fix that problem, but invoking the name of the program will get this post deleted so you’ll have to search the forum yourself.AChanceFind wrote: I would think this would just be coincidental. picking a nit here: 0.50 cents a week means half a cent a week (look up "Verizon math")dkrom wrote:before I fixed my guide for 0.50 cents a week
0.50 dollars means half a dollar a week--aka 50 cents.
50 cents/week means...well, 50 cents.

It’s fixed - and that was nit-picky - just my 0.2 centsadam1991 wrote:

And all but one College football game says TBA. There had been be over half of them TBA. And that really messed-up recording multiple games last Saturday. So...
And Thumbnails are perfect... WMC performance is bak to perfect. Only thing that remains (prob since 2015), is that TCM channel has no Star Ratings.

Did you mean only one saysTBA?
Because "all but one says TBA" doesn't sound like a good thing...
