So I want to create a sports specific guide file but i am not entirely sure about how the guide functions in WMC. I am currently using EPG123, and I understand that it downloads guide data from SD, and creates an MXF file that Windows somehow presents to the user. My question is, do the MXF files go through a further conversion, and get stored in a database file? or are the MXF files read directly by WMC, and presented to the user?
I know the mcepg file has some role in giving us all a TV guide but I'm not sure what that is. Can I create a second guide database, and have a specific program display said second guide? Thanks
Can WMC have 2 guide database files?

No, not exactly. It is all one file. But there are ways to filter the the display. First off, make sure to select the option that "colors" the guide based on the type of program. That makes things like movies, sports, news, etc. stand out more. You can also choose to "view categories"...
But, you can't have separate DB files inside the "guts" of WMC...
