This current outage does not appear to be "the loop" issue, as the last time a data file was downloaded was on 9/15. It appears that Microsoft is just not creating any new data files (unlike with "the loop" where the same identical data file is being created each day and downloaded to the WMC box).

Used to be able to fill out a form on TiVo's site, now it tries to look up your account.

Call TiVo, Weekdays – 7am to 6pm PT, Weekends – 8am to 5pm PT at 877-367-8486 and tell them:

Windows Media Center guide data not updating. Runs out on 9/25 at 8pm, guide is dated 9/26 6am. Happens 2 to 3 times per year, Microsoft not updating files. Please kick them in the butt.

Also post to Microsoft Support in Twitter.
The Windows Media Center Guide has stopped updating. This is always due to MS not updating the files with data from Rovi. Happens 2 to 3 times per year. Used to report issues on Microsoft Connect site, but you abandoned that. More info here: https://t.co/SKcjSjqA6O

The link is to this thread.
Moved to W10 and NPVR in December 2019. Bye.

That's all irrelevant info. This is the exact same problem that happened last Spring. Microsoft is not updating ANY files, irregardless of zip code and provider.

I have engaged Microsoft Support on Twitter in a Direct Message conversation and am now educating them as to the problem. As of now, they are following the "here's a website of fixes that date from 2012" and "try our virtual agent" route. I am pushing hard. Please do the same.

Note that there are two different "end dates". One is the file date and time that is displayed in the "About" screen. Mine shows 9/26 6AM. The other is when the data stops. My data ends on 9/25 at 8PM. In other words, I have data for 7:30, but no data for 8PM.

My guide data stopped updating and was only good to 9/25 @ 8pm.

Here's to hoping Microsoft fix their system within 7 days.

That proved to be a total waste of time. They stopped responding. Going to call Rovi again tomorrow.

Last listing, 4 PM, 25 Sep; OTA Fresno-Visalia, California. Looks like another anxiety causing down to the wire situation. Not that I can do anything, but I manage to keep my cool until we get down to 2-3 days of listings. What a drag.

For what it's worth I posted on the connect site that people should tweet @MicrosoftHelps about the issue to see if it gets their attention. Looks like only 3 people including myself have tweeted about the issue, last time I saw many more. It's funny as you see MS replying to all sorts of bot-ty looking profiles with bot-like responses but totally ignore all the WMC tweets. I also tweeted Rovi/Tivo for what it's worth.

I read back through this thread and now see that it really is unclear if any manual insider intervention fixed this last time and it could have been a random sputtering of working data.

Perhaps if our noise level increases the data gods will hear us again. If we fall silent I'm afraid we won't make it to 2020!

I Direct Messaged Microsoft at that account, got a dialogue going, then they sent me off to 2012 answers and stopped responding. Plan to call Rovi again today.
