I thought it only fair to come back and report that MCLXL had nothing to do with the problem I was seeing. It appears to be related, instead, to my attempts to remove menu strips from the WMC Start Menu via registry tweaks for my Media Center Extender users. I haven't figured-out the solution, yet, aside from removing the tweaks, but have confirmed that they're the cause of my glitch, and NOT MCLXL.plooger wrote:I began having issues w/ my new WMC install ... after installing My Channel Logos XL, and so am here looking for help on how to get my system back to a pre-MCLXL state (short of image restoration, if possible).

I've decided I'd really like to have an EPG that shows 2 1/2 hours of content, but have the FF/RW EPG navigation controls jump 2-hours at-a-time.
You know, when you can get around to it...
Thanks!

I want refund on MCL. Loaded and had errors from day one. Posted a request for assistance and no reply after 3 days. If you are not going to support your hardware and it's bugs, don't pander it to people for your "donation."

Two new channels in the area. I was going to use my copy of MCL XL. I opened the app. Clicked the update App button. Restarted MCL XL. Changed the logos for the 2 channels. Closed MCL XL.
Now WMC won't start up. Damn. I'm screwed.
Tried uninstalling MCL XL.
Tried Replacing Microsoft.MediaCenter.Shell.dll from a different PC with the same version of windows 8.1 64bit. No luck so far.
Running sfc /scannow. Maybe I'll have luck with that.
Any other suggestions? Tried emailing the developer through the contact us link.

only thing that came up were Microsoft.MediaCenter.Shell.dll and ehexthost.exe.config. Replaced both from a different pc but still not working. Wondering if I need to register the dll in some way.

ok...Something is funky with MCL XL.
I ended up removing WMC from Programs/Features. Rebooting, Reinstalling WMC.
Then rebooting. WMC started working again.
Now I try installing MCL XL from the download that I got today. Went in and changed 2 logos again. Now WMC won't open anymore. Argh....

uninstalled MCL XL. Rebooted.
Now everything works. Logos are still there. Only 6 lines of guide though, instead of 10.
Reinstalled MCL XL. Tried WMC. Works fine. Same thing. Only 6 guide lines.
Opened MCL XL, changed guide lines from 10 to 9 and then back to 10. Hit apply.
Started WMC, and magic. It's working. hmm... I don't think I'm going to touch it again unless I have some time to mess around.

I just recently bought MCL XL, and installed it on the computer in my room. My question is can I also install it on my other PCs, or am I supposed to pay for the software for each system? Thanks for the help.

You can just copy the file over to a new computer to install. If you feel like it's worth more to you because you are installing it on several systems, then feel free to send another donation using the same links on the website.

if you find the software useful (most of us do) consider donating to MCL again. he has worked very hard to deliver a great plugin for us. I think he could use a few cups of coffee for his hard work.Kendog52361 wrote:I just recently bought MCL XL, and installed it on the computer in my room. mclupdater.exe false positive???
My wife was using the computer Windows 8.1 w/ Media Center and AVG popped up a warning about a threat from mclupdater.exe. This is not my main HTPC, but i am still concerned about the warning. Has anyone else had this problem?

If AVG flagged it, click Submit For Analysis. If it clears with AVG they should be able to tell you how to ignore/allow.

If you're concerned, just delete it. There haven't been any updates in a very long time. I've had to make all my own logos for the past several months anyway, so no need to update.

Hi all,
I have recently purchased the My Channel Logos xl and after uninstalling the old version and deleting the my channel logos folder from program files and programdata and then installing the new 64 bit My Channel logos XL, I get an exception error when trying to run the program:
"Provide value on 'System.Windows.Baml2006.TypeConverterMarkupExtention' threw and exception error."
Has anyone seen this error before or might know how to fix this error?
Appreciate your assistance.

Is anyone still creating new logos for My Channel Logos? I haven't received any new logos since Oct 02, 2013.
I realize that we can create our own, but I am not good with paint programs.
If you do know of a site that has newer logos, I'm sure I am not the only person that would appreciate a link to them.
Thanks in advance.

I've made about 80 logos for myself. Just do a google image search for the channel in question, and "png". Usually all I have to do is crop it and sometimes change the colors so they show up on dark blue better. I use this to edit them:LakeRat wrote:Is anyone still creating new logos for My Channel Logos?
