Progress on the shopping list. Allows you to select the recipes and then to select ingredients you don't have and then creates a personalized shopping list that can be printed

Also I have completed all the work to upgrade the db from v1 to v2 on the fly if it detects an old database

I need to get the WMC app updated to the same level as the windows app. I have decided it is time for me to get a job so I have been working on that for the last few weeks. Once I get that out the way I will continue to work on it. I got a little burned out on it working on it non stop for a few months... A

No joy in my job hunting search so far! Doh :-(

How are you doing? Any time scale for the next release?

Regards,
Cog.

ok, made some good progress yesterday. Here is a screenshot of the new mc app.
The big change is that I have put ingredients and instructions on the same page. Also any changes you make to the font and text in the windows app for the description will be reflected in the media center app. Here I just put in some new lines and bolded a couple of headings. I have also shown total minutes in the form of hours and minutes.

New Ingredient list in MC app now shows categories. I will post a V2 Beta soon.

Link to new version in first post... A

Here is a new screenshot of the mc app. It incorporates whatever text changes you made to the recipe in the windows app so you will note the word condensed in red and the font size. Also it incorporates the groupings of the recipes we saw in the windows version.

What issue are you having. Where is it failing? Let me know.

Install the MYRecipesSetup.exe first. This will install the windows app and then you run the recipes app from program files \ talfourdjones

If that works then install the media center add in

Ok,

Can you please go to c:\ProgramData\TalfourdJones\MyRecipes\Data

Right click on Recipes.sdf and properties and security tab and tell me what the permissions are

Normally if it crashes on entry it is crashing because for some reason it does not have access to the DB. It was so long since I released V1 that I think I forgot a step with the MSI file that I used to do to get the permissions set correctly using ORCA.

I will investigate further when I get home tonight, but my best guess at this point is that if you give users full rights to the sdf file it will work.

Ok,

I added in the lock permissions that I put on the original msi in orca last time. Same link to v2.0Beta on first page. Please download it and let me know if that fixes the problem. I have my fingers crossed because I cant remember at all what I did to fix it last time...

Hi,

Sorry, but that update hasn't fixed it, the error in MC7 is still the same so can't get it to run at all.

Regards,
Cog.

OK I found a blank Win 7 64bit machine and installed the files from the download that is there now as of 5pm Eastern Time Nov 10. Both files and the install went fine and the media center app ran just fine. Please try this install. If not I cannot replicate on this end so I am going to have to rely on your error logging to figure it out..

Go into Control Panel Administrative Tools and event viewer and there should be an error under the application log and the system log. Send me the detailed error.

Thanks
