Home Run Prime set-up trouble

#1

Post by joedadog » Sat Nov 26, 2011 3:07 am

I have installed the SD Home Run Prime on my network and it won't work with media center on my desktop. Works well with MC on my laptop but I get a blue screen when tuning channels on my desktop. It says "call your cable company to activate the cable card" or "run set up to activate windows". I know the tuner card is activated because it works on my laptop. I tried several times (10+) to re-setup Media Center and I get the same results. I have tried to reset MC a few ways mentioned online and I get the same result. Can anyone tell me how to reset windows like it was never configured without reinstalling windows. Or has anyone had the same problem.

Welcome! Start by uninstalling the HDHR software. Then, to clear Media Center's configuration:

1. Stop the Windows Media Center Receiver Service and Scheduler Service.
2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\ehome (hidden path) and delete all files.
3. Reinstall the HDHR software and make sure all tuners are detected and set to CableCard.
4. Start WMC again and re-run the TV signal setup wizard.
