It's obvious the developer is not interested in supporting this app, which is a shame since it wasn't cheap for what it was. I really can't recommend this app to anyone when the actual Chromecast is much more feature rich.

Wasn't cheap? Isn't it free?

Oh, forgot... I have four Chromecast's. I'm willing to sell them. Let me know. All sales will be via e-bay.

I'm curious; why are you selling them? I like mine.

No he is charging $10.00, doesn't do anything more than what you do with chrome in kiosk mode and youtube.com/tv with an autoit script. No support for Hulu, and once you enter the app there is no way to exit using the remote. Waste of my 45 minutes - nice idea but no drive by the developer to improve it, he just wanted to take the money and run.barnabas1969 wrote:Wasn't cheap? Isn't it free?

I exit the app using the remote. Not sure what your problem is.
Sure, hitting "back" the second time doesn't do what he says it does. So I just hit the menu button, and I go straight to the main menu.
Works fine for me.

I used one of them to watch the entire collection of Breaking Bad, and most of Walking Dead. I like the fact that I get higher resolution on the Chromecast than what I get in Media Center, and the 5.1 audio is a big benefit. However, using my phone/tablet is not as convenient as using a remote control... so I would prefer using a remote with a Roku.mcewinter wrote:I'm curious; why are you selling them? I like mine.
I bought four of them, thinking that my kids would really like them... but they have never even bothered to use them. So, it was a waste of money. Let me know if you're interested.

I'll take at least one off of your hands. I'll PM you at the end of the week.barnabas1969 wrote:I used one of them to watch the entire collection of Breaking Bad, and most of Walking Dead. No problem. I still have one sealed up (never opened) in the original box. I'll take $30.00 plus shipping for the one that is still sealed up in the original box, and $25 for the others (which have been used/tested).
I usually give several shipping options on e-bay. Priority Mail flat rate box is $5.35, First class mail is a little cheaper, and parcel post is a little cheaper than that. E-bay will calculate the shipping prices. The other three (which have been opened and used) will go for $25 plus shipping.
Amazingly, the average selling price for the Chromecast on e-bay is $39.95 w/free shipping. That's $4.95 more than you can buy them directly from Google! The high end is $37.44 + $16.28 shipping, totaling $53.72 (that was on Dec 7th).
I bought mine directly from Google. I think it took two weeks before they shipped. I suppose people are willing to pay the price premium for getting it in 2-3 days instead of waiting a couple of weeks, but I won't list them for more than the price I paid for them.

Yes, works fine for getting back to WMC. However, minimize WMC and you only see the APP screen with no way to get rid of it. You either have to run Task manager and kill it or re-boot windows. A little exit button would be great. Would be greater still if exit cold be executed from android remote app.adam1991 wrote:I exit the app using the remote. Not sure what your problem is.

I hit Alt-F4 ( kill app ) to get rid of the screen or Alt-TAB to go to other applications.
