EventGhost WMC "Back Button" not working with MCC

#1

Post by therealbiglou » Thu Sep 05, 2013 7:56 pm

I use Eventghost and an Android remote app to control my HTPC with WMC. Eventghost has a built in WMC plugin that sends commands such as play, pause, live TV, and even back. The problem is, since MCC is not actually a part of WMC, these commands are ignored and I cannot back out. Is it possible to detect these Eventghost commands for getting back to WMC?

Can you send key down / key up messages to the WinCast.exe process ?

Good idea. I set up a command based on if WinCast is the front most window so that the same back button will close it.

The browser back button should do it!

Fortunately, Eventghost has a built in "Close" command that can be pointed at a specific program. This is working exactly as I had hoped!

Has anyone been able to get the back button to work? I press back button twice and it doesn't do anything. I tried using a keyboard and that didn't work either.

It's the browser back button that is mapped, not the Backspace button.

Any way to get backspace mapped as well? I have a keyboard that I use with media center and it doesn't have dedicated browser keys. I'd like to limit the amount of background apps running so event ghost or auto hotkey are out of the question.

wincast is a virus, Once it is on your machine it never leaves. You cannot even register it. Just spreads an infection you cannot even respond to,
