How to CLEAR Extender connection data from Media Center

#1

Does anyone know how to completely clear all Extender connection data from Media Center?
(hidden user accounts, placeholders of 1,2,3 etc, see more below)

Let me explain more......

I have a Win 7 Media center and 4 extenders. They were all connected and working great.

I also use the My Movies plug-in. In the My Movies collector options, you can tweak the settings PER extender. You see:
Extender 1
Extender 2
Extender 3
Extender 4

Well for some reason, Extender 2 had a hiccup, and I had to reconnect it to Media Center from scratch (enter the code etc)

Now I see Extender 5 in the lineup.

Is their a recommended way to clear the old data on the Media Center for ALL extenders? I'd rather reconnect them all from scratch so they are in the logical order I want. They are actually in the wrong order beyond the extra 5 at this point. I'm going to run a few experiments and would like to keep things in order, and old data removed.

The normal way to remove live & healthy connected extenders is via these instructions, but that's assuming they are connected and working first. I'm not sure where the left over place holders are and what to delete. I'm pretty sure unqiue windows local user name accounts are created per extender too right?

Start Windows Media Center.
Click Tasks, and then click Settings.
Click Extender, and then select your Xbox 360 console.
Click Uninstall.

Go to Jail – go directly to Jail – Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

I fear you have trumped the whole deck of cards, and the only recourse is to backtrack to $0 and start again removing all extenders and setting them up again.
MS did not anticipate this happening so have not accounted for it.

You're probably right, oh well not the end of the world. I thought I'd at least ask before giving up. I'll survive! :)

Did you delete the MCX-2 user account?

It might be worth a shot, but I already re-installed Windows 7 from scratch for another reason so I'm all good for now. It's pretty easy to restore my schedule recordings etc, and didn't lose much starting over. It fixed a different problem though so I'm happy. I'm careful to image my machine now often so I can roll back if needed in the future.
