Custom EDID?

#1

Post by woodchuck » Mon Jan 23, 2017 11:33 pm

All-

I'm back... At least for the moment, lol. I would post this at AVSforums, but I cannot seem to get the activation email, so considering how much I loved this community - I figured I would ask here.

I am trying to program my HDMI Doctor with a custom EDID. I can connect, pull bin files, and write bin files to it. My goal is to set the HDMI Doctor to 1080p30Hz, but I cannot figure out if that is possible or how to do it. All of the settings inside the EDID file are quite confusing. I'm using the AnalogWay EDID Editor. Anyone know if it is possible? Right now it pushes out at 1080p60Hz which is incompatible with some of my gear.

TGB forever!

If you have a HDfury device (I have had a HDfury 1, 2 and 3, now have a Linker, love their products), I would suggest going to HDfury.com and sign up then post there.

The guys there are pretty awesome, last support questions I put up were answered (or at least a good reply) in under 12 hours but, during the day, it was like an hour...

I know the Dr. HDMI but, never changed EDID's on it, did it a few times on a HDfury 3 tho.

Since the lawsuit, their forums lack any of the older products. It's not obvious where a person should post, even for the HDMI Doctor. Maybe I just lob a question into the general feedback?

Hmmmm really ? I was asking pre-sales questions and replying to product options and replies were pretty good.

Try here...see if you get a reply...

Those guys know their crap... so I would start there.. Never worked on the DR.HDMI so I can really help. I am trying to figure out the Linker now but, found out my cables could not handle 4K, so waiting for replacement cables to come in.
