Only that I'm about to pull four echos out of storage and deploy them. One is a beta android unit, two have never even been powered up and the fourth one has been updated with f/w up until sometime mid 2014 so I'm not sure which one it is.
I'm crossing my fingers. Please say a prayer for me.
Thanks!

You wont need any prayers for 7. I'm trying to find a way to jam-em into 10. I have one working in any of my 7's with either tuner, Infini4 or HDHR 3CC.
The 10 box errors out during configuration... It appears that Mcx2Prov cannot continue.
I am looking for a suggestion on how to give Mcx2Prov what it is asking for and not getting.

It's the Echo. Prayers are always required even if it's just sitting in a boxCrash2009 wrote:You wont need any prayers for 7. I'm trying to find a way to jam-em into 10. I have one working in any of my 7's with either tuner, Infini4 or HDHR 3CC.

So you are one of the few that are running the WMC 10 hack but now your're trying to get an echo to work with it? Ceton never got it it work in Win8 and quit before even completing the project due to whatever reason we will not really know but you're trying to shoehorn it into a hacked Win10WMC??Crash2009 wrote:You wont need any prayers for 7. Knocking on wood but the two echos I have used were okay, even the beta unit the last time I used it. I read off failed units or rebooting units or constantly recovering units but fortunately I never experienced that with the two I've had in service. Whether that continues or whether the other two will not be problematic remains to be seen.Ed wrote:It's the Echo. Prayers accepted but I'm optimistic!

This might be what Mcx2Prov is looking for in Fiddler.....
Wireshark Confirms in line 277, what Fiddler said.....
Here are the Dependencies of a Media Center Extender.....What is missing?

The 10 hack was not possible until the WMC option was completely removed by the OS. In 8 and 8.1 WMC was half in and half out. Even 10 Preview WMC was still there. The more recent 10 (with WMC completely removed) has made the hack (Port) possible and created an opening for extenders.Sammy2 wrote:So you are one of the few that are running the WMC 10 hack but now your're trying to get an echo to work with it? And you're trying to pry into that opening? Do you know if the hack was ported over from Win7 or Win8/8.1?? If it is from Win7, it just may be doable. Good luck.Crash2009 wrote:The 10 hack was not possible until the WMC option was completely removed by the OS. In 8 and 8.1 WMC was half in and half out. Even 10 Preview WMC was still there. It would be interesting to see someone try an Echo on Android with Ported WMC in 10

I may try at some point but I would need to reinstall the beta on that echo and I would kind of like to revert it back once done which means contacting Ceton support. If you don't use the android stuff for anything it is less functional and you cant use valve to start live TV.Crash2009 wrote:It would be interesting to see someone try an Echo on Android with Ported WMC in 10

The android version echo I have is currently running vanilla echo firmware. Valve is hide media strips, but I think it is part of the echo settings now.

My echo still has the beta android f/w on it. Now if I only had an apk for Emby and the echo didn't remove sideloaded apk's like it does with the Serenity for android Plex front end I'd be home free for mkv playback! So close, yet so far. I had that working because I was able to get an apk from the beta channel for Serenity and I was going over it with James in PM's when ceton pulled the plug.

And where did you see that video is working? How about audio?Crash2009 wrote:Graznok The Great is working on Win10 Extenders. Step 1.... Remote Desktop Connection, Video is working.

I'll stick with Win7. What's the advantage of Win10 for this purpose?

WAN to phone works as well.

The project is to prevent the extinction of WMC, and hopefully extenders also.
The project started out as a shoehorn, but it's more of an injection now.

So you have video and audio working in Win10 WMC on five extenders simultaneously?
You're able to watch WMC on a phone? Is this CCI 1 content?
I didn't know anyone has been able to break the RDP out of extenders and into another environment?

If you take a closer look at the picture, that is 5 Remote Desktop Connections to the Win10 Host 192.168.1.132. 3 of them are Live TV, the other 2 are Recorded. The phone, is a Samsung S4 using Microsoft Remote Desktop for Android and it is connecting from WAN through the traditional RDC port of 3389. Presently DRM "Protected" channels play for only a couple seconds, then stop. The Win10 host has been able to play DRM channels normally since the end of Nov 2015.Sammy2 wrote:So you have video and audio working in Win10 WMC on five extenders simultaneously?
