The SBG6580 seems to have a lot of issues with port forwarding, just do a google search.
Is the gateway have official motorola firmware or does it have your cable companies? It seems like they might lock these down sometimes completely.

Also just try to change it from TCP to Both and restart it and see if it works.

Thanks for all your help! After your comment about searching the Internet to understand the problems with these modems, I found the solution. It seems that you do not want to enter the outgoing IP address. Everything else you leave alone. Voilà! It works perfectly now.
This is my first experience with this website, and I'm very impressed with the helpful attitude of others. Thanks again for all your help!

Glad it is up and working. Mine taking a screen shot of your final settings on router for anyone in the future that might have this issue. I am also going to mark this thread with [Moto SBG6580].

Yeah everyone here is pretty much awesome to be honest.

Here is a screen shot of my router. I simply removed the outgoing IP.
