Thanks Motz, for the heads up about Amazon. I will try out the companion from there. Nexus will have to wait for another year, an elephant stepped on my wallet this year. :shh:

This is really slick Motz. I think she will like it.

I took your advice and tried to get the app from Amazon, but this AGPtek didn't want to co-operate. It just froze trying to get the app. I dug around a little and Google store was all ready installed, so I tried from Google and it just slurped it up.

HTPC needed a DOT NET upgrade, then a couple updates and a reboot. Companion Services went smooth after that.

During the app configuration I made a little bit of a mess...

To delete simply long press on the PC :)

Just to give you a heads up Motz, certain paid apps when purchased through Amazon App store will show up for updates constantly in Google Play and vice versa. I have this issue with the paid version of Angry Birds and it seemed to be happening on a number of apps when I googled it a while back. I don't know if it's app specific or a bug within the stores; just thought to give you a heads up in case people start experiencing this.

My problem might have been related to what you say stacknhalo. I just got this tablet and didn't know Google store was all ready installed. When I tried to get the app from Amazon, I think it got stuck in the cache, or maybe part of it. There was 526kb of something in the Amazon cache. After I cleared it, and ran Google Store, everything was fine. Had to pay twice though, It's probly not worth the paperwork for a 2.99 credit.

Long press worked. Thanks. Whole new set of words with these things.

You're just gonna have to ignore the constant 'this app has updates' in one store or another (your choice) if thats the case, like I do. Unless it turns out to be some obscure app specific bug Ceton can figure out.

I believe the issue is that they are the same APK file name.

Although google should not alert you unless you purchased it via another method. I guess I didn't think about that a when I first published it.

Crash if you want just uninstall the amazon app store since google play is on there since you got if from that source. I can refund your amazon to you. PM me

Thanks for that credit over at the Amazon store. The credit was applied automaticly to the next thing I bought there. Had some bad luck Xmas morning. The dam power button blew up the first time she turned it on. I couldn't get a blink out of it. The power button had been failing.

Is the Nexus still a good one to get?

Well isn't the simple definition of nexus a connection that links 2 or more items together? If I'm right do I get brownie points? :D

I'm gonna have Newegg deliver mine. 32 Gig HD now, and full of Jelly Beans. Oh boy!

Nexus can mean a lot of different things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus I can relate to Star Trek: Generations. How bought you?

I hope so too. That whole deal was kinda kinky. When I reported the broken power button to Newegg, they kinda sluffed off the responsibility to Imagestore. Normally they don't even ask questions, they just give up the RMA # and thats it. I contacted Imagestore through the Newegg site and Imagestore got back to me fairly quick with an RMA and a statement that they will credit the $$$ upon receipt of the product. Not the normal Newegg return policy. I boxed it up and plan to send it to Imagestore tomorrow. I trust Newegg has a holdback of some sort, to protect their customers, in the event of something going wrong with one of their suppliers. I'm not too worried at this point.

Moving forward to the N7 and the Companion App, looks like I have a little mess to cleanup at Googleplaystore. My apps are registered to the dead AGPtek. Is it possible to transfer them over to the N7? Or, will I have to delete all that, re-purchase, and re-install?

Well hopefully it all works out with newegg I have never had an issue with them, but they are probably crazy busy right now too.

As far as app purchases they are linked to your Google account and not to a device. So as soon as you get your N7 you just log in with the same Google email and you can re-install.

That is the definition of Nexus yes (and what Google officially claims due to trademark violation)...but not a Philip K. Dick fan eh? In "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" novel, a private detective is tracking down a rogue android, a Nexus 6 model. That was the basis for Blade Runner btw.
