FM Radio Tuners? & Internet Radio?

#1

Post by KevinRush » Tue Feb 17, 2015 4:34 pm

Hello,

I am told that some TV tuners have FM Radio tuners in them also but I have been searching the internet BING/google and even looking at some of the manufacturers web sites and haven't easily found any information? Does anyone use the FM turners on their Windows Media Center? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Also is there a way to access the Internet (now that Microsoft eliminated that feature a while back)? Especially internet Radio?

Thank you, Best Wishes.

NTSC cards had FM built into them. I still have a couple and thought about adding FM to the mix again. I don't know if other tuner types offered FM but the issue is that FM won't work without setting up the tuner...in my case, a NTSC tuner. As nothing is broadcasting in NTSC, it makes things difficult, and would require some trickery to get MC to add that tuner(s) to the mix.

Here is an alternative but is getting lame as not all of my favored stations will air through the plug in. ...but it does offer a lot of options nonetheless.

Doh! The plugin is no longer available from their website. I can hook you up, if interested.

Radiotime (now TuneIn) for WMC is history. But this method for internet radio works quite well.

And Relaunch works well for other internet sites.

Hey mcewinter,
I would be interested in grabbing the tunein radio app for WMC, if you wouldn't mind.
Thanks,

I'll gladly send it to you but I just installed it and it's looking for an internet connection, which I have. I'll send it if you want it, but it's useless.
