Following up from this thread over a year ago, has the situation with dual USB DVB-T2 tuners become any better?
TBS appear to have completely discontinued the TBS5280 and my searches for something that I can replace my existing DVB-T2 dual USB tuner are not going as well as I'd hoped.
Last resort will be to probably run both the WinTV-NOVA-TD and the 290e together with a signal splitter - but that's going to make the cable situation under the TV even messier than it currently is
Any suggestions or pointers where to get the TBS5280 or some other alternative? Amazon, ebay, TBS' own website, BuyDVB and Aliexpress (whoever they are) have nothing.
Any dual DVB-T2 USB tuners?

Yes, they have. It was replaced by the TBS5281:mrsilver wrote:TBS appear to have completely discontinued the TBS5280

I have never seen a UK stockist selling either the TBS5280 or the TBS5281, so if you want one you probably need to buy from abroad. (I have no experience with either of the above sellers, so cannot comment on the service that they provide.) The TBS5281 uses a different tuner chip (I think that the tuner chip used in the TBS5280 was discontinued). There are updated versions of the TBS PCI-E cards too (TBS6285 replaces TBS6284; TBS6281 replaces TBS6280).

Looks promising, thanks. Does anyone have any experience of the TBS5281?
I can't seem to find any reviews on it.

Hi,
just spotted Blackgold have a new range of USB tuners on their website, BGT3710 and BGT3720 are T2, but it doesn't say whether they are dual tuners.
their last USB stick, the BGT3555 was dual tuner but only DVB-T.
the website also doesn't seem to list any drivers for this range, so as usual with blackgold, maybe wait for a few months for things to settle down.

The only difference between the two appears to be that the BGT3720 is mini-USB whereas the BGT3710 is "normal" USB. I didn't even know there were any computers/laptops out there with a mini-USB port - you learn a new thing every day
Given that the PCTV 292e nanoStick is a single DVB-T2 tuner and retails for about the same price (Amazon has the 290e for £47.20 whereas the BGT3710 is £46.80) my gut feel is that it is a single tuner
