Can Media Centre record subtitles from Freeview?

Can Media Centre record subtitles from Freeview to the .dvr-ms file? Can they then be switched on and off during playback in (for example) Media Player?

You say .dvr-ms which implies XP or Vista versions of Media Centre and on those the answer is "no", it cannot record subtitles off Freeview. Media Centre in Win7 can, and does, record them though in it's .wtv file.

Don't think Media Player will display them, never tried.

But Vista with TV Pack will also record subtitles as it changed the file format to .wtv :)

That's true, but are you recommending TV Pack? Post Win7 my attitude has essentially been to pretend it didn't exist!

Tested this now on a wtv recording from BBC Four. Media Centre was happy switching subtitles on and off. Media Player didn't show subtitles at all, even when turned on.
