auto login for win 7 home premium
I read somewhere that you can setup win 7 to login automatically with a password, i.e, you don't enter a password in order to login because the password is already saved. I just added a WHS to my network and I want to use it for recorded tv. but, I don't want to have to type a password every time I reboot the machine.
does this make sense? if so, could someone point me in the right direction? I have searched the forum but have not been able to locate this.
Thanks,
Eric

Yes, Win 7, here is a screenshot from my main desktop, win7 ultimate. To allow you to automatically login without a password you just untick "the users must enter......." box and then it will prompt you for your password and bingo, no more entering a password but you have all the advantages of being able to access stuff that needs you to have set a password.stonethecrows wrote:Fleadh wrote:I use Run> and type control userpasswords2
That works for you on Win7? XP and Vista yes, but not Win7.

Ahh okay I get where you're going here. You actually envoke the run command, then type 'control userpasswords2'
It's easier and quicker to type netplwiz in the search box I think. It takes you to the same place.
