Moved copy protected .wtv files, now can't watch
Hey guys - I think I'm screwed here, but I'll ask anyway. I had a bunch of wtv files marked copy once that I moved for archive purposes to another computer. I tried watching over the network but got the 'protected content' error. OK, I thought, you can't view them over the network. So I copied back to the original PC and tried again. Same error. Did my copying off and back change the file itself in a way that it no longer thinks it's the original? I'm guessing yes, but if anyone knows of a way to fix this please let me know.

I may have figured it out. I restarted the PC and now the copied-back file plays again. Odd.

Yeah, copying the file somewhere else should not affect the ability to play it back on the original machine that recorded it. I moved a bunch of copy protected recordings to an external USB drive and also some to another Win7 machine that is sharing them over the network and they all play back fine on the original WMC machine that recorded them.
