Might need a copy of the digital cable advisor
I've had two unsuccessful attempts at downloading the digital cable advisor on my old machine mentioned in other threads. Does anyone have a standalone version of it that I can download, and run? Thanks.

The DCA, and Playready might not be anymore. There is another report of both being unavailable. I only noticed a problem with DCA but I wasn't paying close attention.

A lot of us old school WMC users have a copy backed up... If Microsoft fails to provide it, I am sure we could provide them.... Trust me, I have always kept all the tools for WMC incase all fails...jachin99 wrote:The DCA, and Playready might not be anymore. There is another report of both being unavailable. Once we get the site storage up, I hope to make these available to everyone.

I needed to order a new Win7 product key as I was building a new HTPC late last year and my existing copy of Win7 was an OEM version. I purchased a key from PC Destination here: https://pcdestination.com/product-categ ... windows-7/ They have links to all the ISOs. I used the ISO for the install (I have a couple of Win7 CDs sitting around just in case). Installation went fine and all the necessary files were there for a smooth WMC configuration. On line activation of the license did not work but you just use the phone activation and everything works fine. I've got a couple of clones of the full OS install just in case something happens down the road.jachin99 wrote:The DCA, and Playready might not be anymore. As far as I know, Windows is activated but I'll double check, and thanks DavidCT.

I ran into all kinds of issues with this including windows is not activated because wmc has to be full screen during tv setup. That fixed my problems
