I set it to use recorded TV on a different drive. The setup seems to work fine. Just noticed that all recorded shows are still using the default users C: public folders.
WMC when you goto view recording does honor the D: location.
What to do?
I set it to WMC_recorded_TV on the d: drive
WMC refuses to honor recorded TV change to D: drive folder

as you can see, wmc is putting recordings on c: drive regardless.
I changed recording library, but it refuses to honor it. I have been manually copying recorded shows to d: drive

Yes, verified, it is now working on D: drive. So thanks very much.
That is confusing though, you would think when you set a recording location it would use it. Not need another screen to setup things.

It appears you added D:\Recorded TV to the "Media Library". When you do that, it just tells WMC to look for recordings in that folder and display them in the "Recorded TV" section of WMC. It does not tell it to put new recordings there.
You can have folders added to the "Recorded TV" media library and all the videos in all those locations will be displayed in the "Recorded TV" section of WMC, but there can be only one place where NEW recordings are recorded to, and that is the setting I mentioned above.

I see now that setting a drive location for recorded TV then becomes the default setting, setting the folders location just for WMC to look for already recorded TV, etc... for viewing only , not for recording.
