something weird is going on i am probably getting corruption or something and
when I manually delete a file from the recorded tv folder it will automatically regenerate.

Rebooting sometimes helps

sometimes with admin privileges i can't even delete it.

keeps on coming back from cache maybe

The file may be locked. Stop the WMC Receiver Service first.

Thanks.. gave it a shot.. but nope....

what happens is i press del or shift del ... file looks like it was deleted.. and as fast as I refresh the directory its back.. its only a tv episode about 1GB in size not a huge movie so its not the end of the world but its annoying

I turned off the service .. I am logged in as admin .. the file must be corrupted... even tried it from a dos shell as admin.. nada .. blah

anyway ... thanks for the shot

Create another directory for Recorded TV (C:\RTV2) and see if the issue happens there. Also check the hard drive for errors and check the health of the hard drive.

after a number of reboots (lots of them over a couple weeks) i was eventually able to delete the file.. had to be corrupted .. didn't show an owner.. admin couldn't take ownership.. weird problem
